“Walkers: Independence” has been canceled on The CW after only one season, Diversity Have you learnt.
The series served as a prequel to fellow CW show “Walkers”, which was just renewed for season 4 on the network.

The show is set in the late 1800s. According to the official description, it follows “Abby Walker (Katherine McNamara), a rich and tough-minded Bostonian whose husband is murdered before her eyes during a trip to the west. The teleplay for the pilot was written by Seamus Kevin Fahey from a story co-written and chased by a bear by Anna Frick. Both serve as executive producers, with Jared Padalecki, Dan Lin and Rideback's Lindsey Liberatore, and Chased by a Bear starring Laura Terry.
