Suzanne Shepherd, who performed the moms of key feminine characters in “Goodfellas” and “The Sopranos,” died Friday. She was once 89.
Born on Oct. 31, 1934, Shepherd additionally had roles within the films “Mystic Pizza,” “Uncle Greenback,” “Requiem for a Dream,” and “A Grimy Disgrace.”
She made visitor appearances at the TV presentations “Ed,” “Regulation & Order” and “Blue Bloods.”
Shepherd, who lived at the Higher West Aspect of Long island, “passed on to the great beyond peacefully very early the day past morning,” the actor and actual property agent Tom Titone wrote Saturday on Fb.

Ray Abruzzo, who performed Little Carmine Lupertazzi in “The Sopranos,” remembered Shepherd on Instagram.
“Unhappy to listen to of the passing of Suzanne Shepherd. A drive of nature. Actress, trainer. Performed Carmella’s mom on Sopranos and Karen’s mom in Goodfellas,” he wrote Saturday.
Shepherd, an established regional theater director and Sanford Meisner-trained appearing trainer, is survived through her daughter, the artist Kate Shepherd; her son-in-law, Miles; daughter-in-law Joyce; and granddaughter Isabelle, in keeping with The Solar.
Titone stated a shiva will likely be held Monday and Tuesday.
