Sooner Scoop – OU’s 2025 class starts with a QB

Entering the weekend, it was clear Oklahoma had made its mark on the 2025 Frisco (Texas) Rock Hill quarterback Kevin Sperry,

After the weekend, it was readily apparent the countdown to when Sperry would make that call to the Sooners.

It didn’t take long. Sperry, who was introduced by OU on March 9, announced late Monday that he would start OU’s Class 2025 as an initial commitment.

Sperry has been on OU’s radar for a while, competing in OU’s on-campus camp last June. And all he did was help himself with a solid sophomore season.

There’s been a lot talk about the 2024 quarterback commitment, and now the Sooners’ closure as head coach Brent Venables and offensive coordinatorr jeff laby Know that they already have 2025.

It’s the start the 2025 rankings cycle, but Sperry’s performance at the Under Armor Camp event in Arlington, Texas, on Sunday shows that Venables and Labey are adding another big-time commitment to the position.

Sperry has been racking up one offer after another in recent weeks, but something was different when Ou entered the mix.

Sperry wrapped it up quickly, and the Sooners already have a face for the class 2025.
