According to the Social Security Administration (SSA), two of the fastest growing names for boys in the US last year were inspired by the hit show “Yellowstone.”
The SSA said that the names “Dutton” and “Kays” are ranked #1 and #2 on the list of the top five fastest growing boy names in 2022.
Dutton is the surname of the fictional family that owns the Yellowstone ranch on the hit Paramount Network show. Kevin Costner The Vice Chancellor plays the role of John Dutton. His son in the show is Kayce Dutton, played by Luke grimes.
“One of the first things parents do for their newborn is to give them a Social Security number. This makes Social Security the ultimate source for the most popular baby names each year!” Kilolo Kijakazi, acting commissioner of social security, said.

“And like a name, Social Security follows you through life's journey,” he said.
The agency says the SSA began compiling a list of popular baby names in 1997.
The “Yellowstone” series, created by real-life ranger Taylor Sheridan, has been hugely successful and is now a three-spin-off franchise. The show follows generations of Duttons from the early 1800s fighting to keep their ranch land in Montana.

The original show starring veteran actor Costner will not be renewed for a 6th season, the network announced earlier this year.

But Chris McCarthy, president and CEO of Paramount media Networks, confirmed it last month in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter Matthew McConaughey is lined up to star in an expanding series set within the “Yellowstone” universe.
