NBA Playoffs: Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins doubtful for Game 6 with fractured rib cage

The Golden State Warriors could be without Andrew Wiggins for a crucial Game 6 against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.

Warriors officially list Wiggins as questionable A Thursday for the Western semifinal game left costal cartilage fracture, The injury usually occurs due to blunt trauma to the rib cage.

It is unclear how Wiggins arrived at the injury report. Wednesday finished with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in 36 minutes in a 121–106 win at the Chase Center, his best output this series. He averaged 16.8 points and 6 rebounds against the Lakers in the playoffs.

“It was the best game Vigs has had since he has been back for over three weeks,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after Game 5, “The way he attacks, the way he goes to the rim, it adds another dimension to our attack. I thought the last few games in L.A., we didn't get to the line a ton. We settled for a lot of stuff, and I thought the wigs did a really good job of being offensive.”

While playing through a rib fracture sounds , it has been done before. Warriors forward Kevon Looney The same fracture happened in the 2019 NBA Finals After taking a huge hit from Kawhi Leonard.

The Warriors currently trail the Lakers 3-2 in the Game 6 series in Los Angeles. With the Warriors' season coming, it's hard to imagine Wiggins not at least trying to play on Friday.
