More high-speed packed racing is in store this weekend as the NASCAR Cup Series returns to the Franken-track of Atlanta Motor Speedway. Prior to the 2022 season, speedway management completed a redesign of the 1.54-mile circuit that narrowed the corners and increased the banking to 28 degrees to encourage racing that was similar to the 2.5-mile-plus Daytona and Talladega Superspeedways. Looks
The results were mixed. While the organizers got the exciting packed racing they wanted, there were 22 warnings for crashes between the two races. That’s more than the last four races at Daytona and Talladega combined. Stop by for a long Sunday afternoon.
