Morgan Wallen postpones concerts for six weeks after ‘vocal fold trauma’ diagnosis

morgan wallen Will take a break from singing for some time. The country star posted a video to his social accounts on Tuesday explaining that he had been placed on vocal rest for six weeks and would need to postpone upcoming tour dates, citing “vocal fold trauma.”

“I got some bad news yesterday from my doctors at the Vanderbilt Voice Center,” Wallen says in the video. “After taking 10 days of vocal rest, I did three shows last weekend in Florida. By the third, I felt terrible.

Wallen said he re-examined his throat. Doctors told him that he had re-injured his vocal cords and advised six weeks of rest. Wallen also says that he has been nursing a torn hamstring since he was on tour in Australia and felt that time off could help him heal.

The move comes after last minute shows Cancelled on April 23 in Oxford, Mississippi, which was called off by Wallen's team due to vocal issues. This was followed by three shows being postponed to the following weekend. Wallen performers returned to the show on their One Night at a Time Tour in Florida on May 5, but will now miss a significant portion of their spring and summer dates. He noted that he and his team are working to reschedule all dates in this hiatus, and that he will be ready for festival dates next year. Additionally, he will miss his ACM performance this Thursday and appearance at ACM's Lifting Lives charity event. wallen is designated for the top prize of Entertainer of the Year at this week's awards.

Wallen concluded by saying that his doctors had given him a choice: he could continue singing and risk permanently damaging his voice or commit to vocal rest. “For the longevity of my career, it's just a choice I had to make,” he says. “I hate it, but I love you guys and I appreciate the support you always give me. I'll see you soon, and I'll be back better than ever.”

Rescheduled dates haven' been announced yet, but the affected shows are below. Wallen is set to resume his tour with two nights at Chicago's Wrigley Field on June 22 and 23.
