filming the sixth and final season of Crown Ongoing, along with actors Ed McVie and Meg Bellamy, are photographed in St Andrews, Scotland this week playing Prince William and the former Kate Middleton.
The cameras rolled as the Emmy-winning show recreated an early part of the royals’ relationship, which began in the early 2000s, when they both attended the University of St Andrews.
McVey and Bellamy were filmed together and separately as young Will and Kate on a street.
When he was cast in September, netflix said Both actors were making their screen debuts in high-profile parts. The company noted that Bellamy submitted her audition tape in response to a casting call on social media.
The students who saw the cameras immediately alerted TikTok, which didn’t go down well with the actors at all.
In season 5, the lavish Netflix drama focuses on the dissolution of the marriage between Prince Charles (now King Charles III) and Princess Diana, played by Emma Corrin and Elizabeth Debicki. In the sixth season, the show will explore Diana’s tragic death in 1997, its aftermath and its impact on the entire royal family.
Fans are used to seeing new actors. since Crown Claire Foy, Olivia Colman and Imelda Staunton all portray her, starting in 1952 at the beginning of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, and the rest of the cast has been swapped. Also in the upcoming season, William and Kate will be played by McVie and Bellamy, yes, but also by two younger actors.
While the show is not explicitly a documentary, the UK Government’s Culture Secretary asked that it include a disclaimer, noting that it was fictional in 2020. The show declined, although a trailer for the fifth season later noted that the series was a “fictional dramatization,
