Mayim Bialik exits ‘Jeopardy! Hurry up hosting duties in solidarity with striking writers

Mayim Bialik will not host Finals Week Jeopardy! Due to the ongoing writers strike.

deadline And vulture reports Bialik will be sitting out the final week of season 39 — which is scheduled to shoot May 16 through May 19 at the Pictures lot in Culver City — in solidarity with the striking writers. however, Jeopardy! Will continue with Ken Jennings, who shares co-hosting duties with Bialik, serving as host for those shows.

Jeopardy! The game uses writers from the Writers Guild of America (WGA) for the clues. Those writers — including Michelle Loud, Jim Raine and Billy Wiese — have been on strike with the WGA since May 1. This is not yet apparent to the audience as the show pre-tapes. The writers clued in well into the future so that production can continue.

Yahoo Entertainment has reached out to reps for Bialik and Sony Pictures Entertainment for comment.

Bialik and Jennings split hosting duties this season for the most-watched show in syndication. He did the first part from to December and then he took over in January. So now they will close out the season before taking a break for the summer.

Viewers got to see Bialik on Wednesday famous person wheel of Fortune, She competed against Jennings and the show's own Vanna White for a pre-taped special edition of the show. Maggie Sajak, daughter of host Pat Sajak, filled in for White.
