Spring is a valuable time for football programs to experiment with players at different positions to see where the best fit might be. For fellow rising Amorian Walker, the change to cornerback isn’t a new development for him, but one position to be able to take the majority of his snaps.
One of the Wolverines’ recent success stories, Mike Sanristiel, with his conversion from wide receiver to cornerback, knows all about the transition Walker is trying to make.
He’s doing everything he can to help Walker through the entire process.
Sanristil said, “He might not be able to pick up on it as fast as I did or as fast as the coaches want him to be right now.” “Which is fine, he has time and I’ll make sure I help him as much as possible because I know what it’s like to switch from offense to defense. I know there can be thoughts of ‘this is too hard’ Can.” I just want to get back on offense,’ so I’m going to make sure I take him under my wing and help him as much as I can.
For those on offense against him, players certainly look to potential walkers.
Roman Wilson has had plenty of one-on-one battles with Walker and knows he is in the early stages of learning the position.
Once he does that, it looks like Wolverine has struck gold again.
“I went up against him many times,” Wilson said. “I watch a lot of his film. I think he’s really good. He’s really athletic. Right now, he’s really raw. He’s close to getting the technique down and I think when he’s in the corner becomes a technician, I think he’s going to be.” one of the best. This is my opinion.”
