Maize and BlueReview – Jet Howard out for Michigan NIT opener

Due to not earning Michigan’s bid for March Madness, the Wolverines chose to accept an invitation to the NIT.

One player that Howard will not be watching play tonight is his son, Jett Howard. Maize and the Blue Review have learned that Howard is out with an ankle injury and that Joey Baker will start. Continue to follow M&BR for updates.

Before accepting the invitation, head coach Juwan Howard offered his feelings after Michigan’s loss to Rutgers in the Big Ten Tournament.

“Yes, they want to continue playing,” Howard said Thursday. “I want to see him play and I want to be able to coach him after the season. We’ll go back home, we’ll talk about what the plans are for the future and we’ll go from there.
