Lithuania Faces Cyberattack, Russia’s Killnet Claims Hack of Websites


Lithuanian state and personal establishments have been hit by a denial-of-service cyberattack on Monday, the Baltic nation’s Nationwide Cyber Safety Centre mentioned in an announcement launched by the defence ministry.

“It is vitally possible that assaults of comparable or larger depth will proceed within the coming days, particularly within the transportation, vitality and monetary sectors,” the centre mentioned.

Lithuania’s tax authority mentioned in an announcement it had halted all actions on account of an unusually giant variety of makes an attempt to connect with its programs, though all information was protected.

“The primary targets are state establishments, transport establishments, media web sites,” deputy Defence Minister Margiris Abukevicius mentioned, in one other signal of deteriorating relations between Baltic NATO nation Lithuania and neighbouring Russia due to Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine in February.
