Jeremy Renner shares nephew’s sweet note amid recovery: ‘So lucky my uncle is alive’

As recovers from his brutal avalanche accident, the 52-year-old is being supported by his family. The action star shared an adorable handwritten letter from her nephew Auggie on Wednesday’s Instagram Story.

The note reads, “I’m so lucky because my uncle is Hawk-Eye.” (Rainer has played the superhero Hawkeye in the Marvel movies.) “I’m also very lucky that my uncle is alive from his accident.”

Rainer captioned the letter, “Love my little man. Bless you, Auggie.”

According to the incident report from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Reiner was crushed to death as he was trying to stop the pistonbully from running over his nephew. It is unclear whether or not Auggie was the nephew, as Renner was celebrating the holiday with several members of the family.

According to call 911 From the scene of the accident, Rainer is lucky to be alive. A neighbor called for help and the actor could be heard moaning in pain in the background.

“Are there any obvious injuries?” the 911 dispatcher asked.

“Oh my god, yes,” an unidentified person replied. “He says he has a problem with his ribs… his right side… his right chest and upper-upper torso. His ribs look like they could be crushed. He also has a wound in his head.”

Rainer was hospitalized in critical condition. His representative said at the time, “He suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.”

Last month, he shared a photo on a stationary bike with the caption, “Whatever is needed.” In a follow-up Instagram story, Renner said he’s working on his “mental recovery too,” along with an image from the self-help and motivational book, The Book of Awakening: Having the Life You Want by Being Present to the Life You Have.
