Toto Wolff has played down hopes on Mercedes' much-anticipated upgrade for the next race at Imola despite Lewis Hamilton calling for a one-second upgrade after the Miami Grand Prix.

Hamilton finished sixth in Miami on Sunday after qualifying 13th, while team-mate George Russell finished a respectable fourth – but still crashed out of the Red Bull League after one. One-two finish for the defending world champion.

While Hamilton insisted he needed a “second upgrade” of around a second, Wolff believes the upgrade for Imola may not even be worth half-a-second, instead saying that A “good baseline” would be: “I don't think we'll get there and all of a sudden we're half a second faster and in the middle of the fight. We won't be.”
