Def Leppard’s Rick Allen on Monday in Fort Lauderdale Beach, Fla. Was attacked outside the Four Seasons Hotel. While smoking in the valet, a teenager – who was “hiding behind a pole” – accused the 59-year-old drummer of “running all over”. According to the police report obtained by Yahoo Entertainment, Allen fell and “injured his head with a blow”.
Max Edward Hartley, 19, was arrested and charged with two counts of battery, four counts of criminal mischief and one count of abusing an elderly or disabled adult. Allen lost his arm in a car accident in 1984.
Allen was in town when Def Leppard co-headlined a show with Mötley Crüe on Sunday. A rep for the band had no comment when contacted by Yahoo.
The police report details the disturbing incident.
While Allen was on the ground, a woman came out of the hotel to help. Hartley allegedly attacked her and pinned her down where she was hit and beaten. When the woman attempted to escape by running into the hotel, the suspect accused her of dragging her back out by her hair. After this he fled from the area.
Hartley was arrested after going to a nearby hotel and allegedly damaging several vehicles in a parking garage. The accused was released on bail from the Broward County Jail on Tuesday.
According to the report released on Thursday, Allen gave an affidavit to the police and said that he wanted to stand trial.
