before the movie sxsw Premieres the first trailer for the project – directed by Lim, who previously wrote blockbuster rom-coms crazy rich asian – embarks on an irreverent and tumultuous journey through China.
The film follows Park and Sherry Kola as Audrey and Lolo, two childhood best friends who embark on an adventure in China with former college friend Kat (Sue), who is now a soap star in the region. as well as Lolo’s cousin, Deadeye (Sabrina Wu).
All is well until they hook up with a drug smuggler search partyof Meredith Hagner, who drops her stop at square off, thus forcing them to try and navigate their way out of the country.

In a last-ditch effort to evade airport security on their way out of China, the friends decide to pose as a K-pop group with a crowd of fans. When the executives are forced to prove their talents, they launch into a hilarious rendition of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s gloriously dirty “WAP.”
“This film gives heart and voice and dimension to people who have never really played a meaningful role in this genre,” Park recently told EW of the film. “I can’t wait for people to have the best time to see it.”
